A short Primary Maths skills check

Seven groups of eight make 56. You can check with 5 × 8 + 2 × 8 = 40 + 16 = 56.

One quarter of 20 is 5, so three quarters is 3 × 5 = 15.

Align the decimal points: 1.25 + 0.70 = 1.95.

Perimeter is the distance around the shape: 8 + 5 + 8 + 5 = 26 cm.

42 ÷ 6 = 7, so 420 ÷ 6 = 70.

Multiplying the numerator and denominator of 25 by 2 gives 410.

Fifteen minutes takes the time to 4:00 pm; the remaining 20 minutes takes it to 4:20 pm.

0.6 is 610. Dividing the numerator and denominator by 2 gives 35.
